My little Miss E

This week Miss E is extra clingy, maybe its just a phase :)

Last night we were tucking her to sleep. She stood up in a crib and said "mommy's bed"! So I told her, if she wants to sleep with me she could not have her pacifiers (she usually takes 3, one in mouth, one in each hand) could not bring her baby doll and could not bring her blanket.

I thought this would change her mind since she never ever sleep without her pacifier since she was 13 months old.

To my surprise, she gave me a big smile, dropped all her "bed time tools" and reached out to me and said "okay". I was stunned. But a promise is a promise. So I carried her to my bed, and laid down with her.

She actually fell asleep without any sleeping aid, well, except, the sleeping aide of mommy. Though she did talked to herself for an hour before she fell asleep. I wish I had a recorder to record all her talking. It was super hilarious ~

Just few more months then I will get to spend every day with Miss E ~

OMG

What?! It has been almost 1 year and 1/2 since my last blog entry?! I am such a lazy bum! okay okay I will update very very soon. I promise!

E's new ride at the gym!

I love living so close to a community recreational center! Especially during the winter season where the weather is cold and gloomy most of time. It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the Rec center. E and I go swimming on Tuesday where it only cost a dollar! And on Fridays we go to the parent-tot open gym which only cost a dollar as well. 

Her newest discovery is the "car". She absolutely loved it. She is still a bit too small to wheel herself around so I pushed her around the gym. E giggled and laughed the whole time she was at the gym. She felt she is one of the big kid too playing. I think we will definitely go every Friday!

E's progress

Thought I do a quick note on E's newest developments for those who you want to know :) 

She is now at least 28 inches and 18 lbs. She loves bath time and the newest thing for her in bath is to splash water with her two hands and giggle.

She has now tasted brown rice cereal and banana. She likes brown rice cereal after one week of trying it. She is still not sure about banana. I guess she is not a sweet tooth just yet. 

She has few pimples on her forehead. I am guess that is the sign that is she slowly teething again.

She can now flip from her tummy to her back no problem. But she still dislike turning from her back to tummy since she was never a fan of tummy time. She can tear papers up with both hands with ease.

Her routine is getting up around 8AM. Play play play.  Eat eat eat and nap around 10:30AM. Wakes up around 11:30 AM and PLAY PLAY PLAY until 1:00PM. Then nap for two hours. She loves going out for a walk and she loves going to the climbing gym.

She will be starting her swimming lessons in two weeks!

E's first cereal experience

For the past few weeks whenever we were eating Evelyn would stare really hard at our spoon, our mouth and the food! We thought she might be ready for some "real" food besides milk. Last Sunday we picked up organic baby brown rice cereal from Whole Foods and she had her first cereal dinner on Sunday.

At first she wasn't too sure what that is. We had to pretend to eat out of her bowl to make her want some of it. She ended up didn't have much but I think she enjoyed the experience :)

Evelyn's first Chinese New Year

We celebrated Evelyn's first chinese new year early in both traditional (the red-pocket money from grandparents and new clothes) and non-traditional ways(went to Honey's doughnut for afternoon tea) 

She absolutely loved the red-pocket idea and wouldn't let go once they were in her hands. When Link tried to take it away, she cried and fussed :).

This Chinese New Year also represents a big milestone for E. She is going to start having baby cereal tomorrow! Should be fun. Will keep you all posted!
